A dark figure strided over the short grass, his long legs carrying him quickly across the clearing. Black boots pounding the ground as he walked, a long broadsword hanging from his left side. Wings drapping over him, making him look far bigger then he actually was. A young lithe golden panther strolled on the right of him, her step light and easy. He was tall, lean but abnormally strong. Across the clearing was a rather large building, deemed the 'School Store'. His own hut was on the other side of the clearing. He could see the Fencing Dome from here, it's white shell glowing strongely in the sunlight. His mind was racing, first was the new girl he had meet. Aidain. He needed to help her pick out the right broadsword, for she wanted him to teach her to fight with that type of sword. He smirked a bit. Then his face fell into a tight frown, there was so much to do now that they both understood each other a little better. The evil was ever closer than before, and they both were good canidates for the evil's intentions. Are you gonna be able to do this? Jas asked him after a moment of silence. Teach? Don't know...I probably won't be able to explain things for her in the right way....fighting with broad sword is more instinit than just fencing which is more form....Bah He was goning to try, even if she didn't understand any of his mutterings, she would then just have to practice....instinits ruled with broadswords.

Aidian followed on his left and a little behind. Her braid was bouncing everywhere, so she was occasionally stopping to fix the sharp bits in the braid so that they didn't fling all over the place. She was going to learn how to use a broadsword. She hoped that it wasn't as structured as fencing. Her favorite art, Ninjitsu, was pretty much instinct- and she liked it that way. Of course there were few pointers, but Ninjitsu never told you that you had to use a flimsy foil, never told you what your goal was, and never told you what breath to take from the beginning of the match. Ninjitsu was ruled by two words- instinct and oppertunity. She hoped Broadsword fighting was the same.
Aidian looked up at the sun. It was almost ten o' clock. However, it wasn;t the sun that told her the time- it was the internal clock. She almost laughed at herself for that. Now there were flashes in her eyes from looking at the sun. Genius.
Hey Dad! Good morning. Have you had breakfast yet? No, not yet. I'm getting a sword first. A sword? What kind? English Broad. You remmeber that guy I was fighting earlier? Naturally. You mean Tristan? Yes. Quit tapping! I'm your father, deal with it. Now what were you saying? She felt him sip his coffee, one of his daily sixteen cups of strong egyptian coffee. He wasn't quite awake yet. Well, he is going to teach me how to use it. We're going to the shop to get one now. So that's why the money was strung in. Okay, have fun with that. How's everything else? Quite an adventure. I don't know how much I can tell you without messing anyone up. Sorry. Okay, Cookie. Just try to keep yourself alive, hm? I'll try Daddy. Love you. Coke.
Aidian let out a small chuckle. She remembered the time she put cok in his coffee. By his face, everyone knew that it tasted overly discusting with egyptian tastes with american soda. They laughed so hard the next day. That brought her to the time where they were fixing a machine adn Dad had spilled his coffee on the colaberator, electricuting himself through the coffee. Aidian couldn;t help but smile at all the stories about troubled coffee.
And this is the one who made you evil today.
She felt a shudder go through her body...

Jas bounded a little ahead of them, her slim figure engulfed in the trees that lined the small clearing. just because the both of you refuse to eat breakfast doesn't mean I can't...ah...rabbit...Tristan grunted, his own eyes searching for the sun, calulating the time by the position of the sun and how hot it felt against his back. Around ten. It seemed that they had been talking for a lot longer then just a few hours...more like a day. But meh, whatever. Jas bounded back, her mouth full of dead rabbit. Her own green eyes gleeming in pride at her kill, though she could bring down a whole deer, it was a bit too early for her. Patting her head, to compliment on her prize. They about reached the store. Of course it was opened, some students were seen looking around and buying things. He turned his eye towards Aidain hoping for not to scare the kids off. But of course the younger ones were scared off by his shadow, and the scowled on his face, the large leathery wings on his back. To them he probably looked like a demon....even if they had never seen one before. Meh....The swords were kept inside...the building long and tall. Holding all sorts of weapons....Climbing two steps he opened the door, the air was musty and smelt a little old...like the place hadn't been aired in years. Crossing the entrance, ignoring stares of curious students and the other odjects that lined the shop. Nodding to the shop keeper who was standing by the purchase desk, he was a thin bolding old man with glasses that made his eyes looked far larger then they actually were, but that man he had a temper on him. The shopkeeper grunted a greeting, sipping his morning tea. "Tea today Tristan?" he asked not looking up from his newspaper. His voice hoarse and raspy. "Not today Hoarce....I need a blade." he replied, looking over to the room filled with all sorts of swords and knives. "Fine, fine...you are a better jugde on the blade them I am....just please keep that cat out of there....she scared away half of the students yesterday." This time he looked up, his blue eyes maginfied twice there normal size. The half-demon nodded. Jas had stayed outside....perfering to eat breakfast in the sun. He motioned for Aidain to follow.

Aidain walked up the steps. She recgonized the girls from the dorm, and they began to sneer at her. Thy were snikering- again. Their cold girlie eyes tried to peirce her down to her very core and break her down- but Aidain was to strong for that. She simply smiled, her eyes blazing mischeviously. The girls turned away from her with that 'OMG- Whats your problem?' kind of face. Whatever. She walked up to Tristan, looking up at him for instruction.
"Hey look, she's going out with a demon! I didn't know that she would have to go that low to get anyone!" The girls' voices rang in Aidian's ears.
Aidian was going to take these matters into her own hands. She didn't even turn to face the girls yet.
"Well look who's talking? Weren't you the one who tried to get a date with the the Head Master. Talk about desperate."
The shop was silent. Aidian smiled.

Tristan whipped his head around, glaring at her with his eye. Telling her without so many words to keep silent. Ignoring the girls he strided over to the other room, many swords lined the walls, rackes of them stood on the ground. Many diferent ones, long, braod, etc....He smirked forgetting what the dorm girls has said two seconds eariler. It didn't really matter, he was over being teased....though he if he wished he could go over there and scare them.....no....he would be in so much trouble....not that it mattered. If he asked Jas could scare them off...that would teach them to keep their voices, shut...though Aidain had done a good job. But....Jas??
On it Tristan....there are gonna be rumors going around of a killer panther....gah...whatever.He gave out a quiet chuckle. Then focused his attention back to the swords, picking one up, he tested teh balance, the weight and the craftsmanship. Liking what he saw he showed the hilt to Aidain, "Try this one....It should feel like the blade is made for your hand..."

She tookt eh sword, and the first thing she liked were the colors. A second later she realized that she could carry it easily. She would have hit it against the floor for strenth, but she figured that wasn't the best idea. She felt the blade, and decided that she liked the shape of the steel. She backed up, making sure she had plenty of room,a dn then gave it a few clumsy swings. Smiling, she nodded with a smile to Tristan.
She walked over to the counter and looked to Tristan, wondering if he had anything else to say or do before she bought the blade.

"It works...." he muttered nodding agreement. It was a good blade. Walking back outside folding his wings to fit though the door, he heard Jas growl...and more then two girls wimper. Glancing over he all about gave a laugh. Jas was standing, barely showing any agession....though the girls seemed utterly terrified. Keeping silent he gestured for Jas to follow. He sat on the ground, crossing his arms againt his chest waiting for Aidain so they could leave and see the Headmaster. Sighing he closed his eye, Jas rumbled a purr trying to comfort him. Resting his hand on her head, he felt a bit better. Did I scare them enough? she asked, her voice light and her eyes dancing. Yes, yes you did.

Aidain quickly bought the blade and put the hilt on her pant's loop. Sheathing the sword, she came out of the shop. She nodded to Tristan that she was ready to go when he was. She turned to Jas, and as Jas so ever deserved, she began to scratch her ears. Aidian decided, now for certain, that it was the best idea ot stay on Jas' good side.
So now they were going to talk to teh warden. Back to buisness. Aidian followed suit behind Tristan, her more masterful side on the surface. She felt a little off baloence with the sword on ehr side, btu she knew in time she would get used to it. thinking for the moment, she stepped away from Jas and Tristan. without preperation, she tried a backflip to see how she would land. She ws off a little to the right where the sword was. At that point, she flipped again so that she landed exsactly where she had been standing. Satisfied for the moment, she returned to Tristan, ready to go.

Jas purred as Aidain stratched, she so loved this, to bad Tristan didn't do this more often. But then again boys and their prides. Sighing Jas moved on with them. Tristan was deep in thought, she knew. They way he was walking, the tenseness of this shoulders, and the way his wings were held away from his side. He had his hands in the pockets of that black coat, his head lowered a bit. She knew something was up, more then this evil thing....Aidain had bought memories out that the half-angel wished could have remined hidden for the rest of enerity. Tristan was not really thinking of the great evil that he could feel becoming stronger each and every day. He wasn't worried about teaching Aidain....what he had told her...he had never told anyone else in his life...other then Jas of course...but Jas already knew....like she had read his mind before they meet. Sighing heavily he watched Aidain become aquinted with her new sword. Time to talk to the Headmaster...again...

Aidian looked up at Tristan, and he looked so weary, heavy laiden and rather depressed. She couldn't help but feel bad for him. She knew that she had dug up more ground than he ever wanted back there. Had he been sitting in it all this time? She felt her father take another reviving gulp of coffee that kept him working around the clock. She was now starting to see more of the people that inhabited the world than she wanted. The races, all of them it seemed, were always putting up face to cover up the broken glass in their hearts.
She didn't think twice- instinct was instinct. She walked up to Tristan and looked up into his face that showed how sad and broken he was. Her first instinct was to comfert him, and the only was she had ever comferted anyone was nothing les than to give them a good tight hug.
So that was what she did.

He froze, his body going tense. Not knowing what to do. He gulped. He wasn't used to contact. Even when the boys had clung to him he froze for an instant. He looked down at her, unsure of what to do or say. His arms were in the air, unbenotcied to him. He hadn't been excpeting this, especialy from her....Finally he did something, lowering his arms he patted her on the back a few times, and said quietly, "Alright...that's enough." He was totally unsure of what to do next. Jas was sitting there laughing at his situation. He gave her a scowl....she just scowled back and continued laughing. It was akward for him....and Jas knew it...but she knew when not to take it too far. Then giving one final huff she set off walking again. Striaght for the main door.

Aidian let go, a little unnerved herself. She didn't mean to let it get that far but...it just happened that way. It was as if she had only watched it happen. She couldn't look back up at Tristan for a moment. Putting her hand on the sword hilt, she followed Jas to the main door, leaving Tristan behind.
Cookie, you okay? Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little off edge that's all. Alright. Oh, I have news for you. His voice seemed a bit happier, and surprised himself. What? Flametail will be having cubs. Aidian stopped in her tracks, and then kept going, a little bouncier than before, her edge scrubbed down. Thanks Dad, it's what I needed. Figured it would do you some good. I think there are four of them but I can't be sure yet. Well, good luck with that adventure of yours. Have fun with that sword and don;t kill anybody with it- it will be bad news for the both of us. Yes Dad, I'll try not to. Love you! Love you, too, Cookie. See you later.
And that was that. Flametail having cubs... Aidian couldn't wait to see them. She knew that by the time she would have gotten back from the school they would be almost full grown, but maybe they would let her go home during some kind of holiday break or something.
Her attention turned back to Tristan. She felt as if she had an older brother now- as rough as it may have seemed. Aidian walked, her head down, reeling in thought. She walking in a steady pace, destined to walk into a tree. She could imagine why Tristan wasn't so open to being hugged like that- his father must have made him like that. Tristan was so closed, so crusted over. Her every move now was feeling like game. At this point, she would rather save and come back to it later...

Tristan was still unnerved by the sudden contact. Raising his hand to his head, he stood dumdfounded for a moment. Unsure of what to do....He has never gotten a hug before...not in the way she gave it. So spontenious...and so unexpected. Like siblings do when they know something is wrong. He was not the kind to give hugs or recieve them; he never was given one before he came into his world. Even his mother never hugged him so unexpected...so sudden. Her hugs were when he was lying broken on the floor of his father's throne room. Even Jas couldn't give hugs....she didn't have any hands. What would process her so much as to give him a hug like that....? What? Could she sense that something wasn't right...that he was sulking? Aidain felt more then just a accenqutience he had meet only that morning. In some odd bazzier way...she felt like his young sister....even if they were two different races....had different blood. He felt protective over her...even though she could take care of herself....he still felt...They were connected in some way... Lowering his arm, he followed. His step a bit lighter then before Jas sat on the stairs waiting for them to hurry....Her tail seemed to tap the floor with a little more then annoyance...

Rather, as I dais she might- she did. or rather, almsot did. She found herself all to close to a meeting with a tree. She smiled to herself. Not turning, she pretended to be a littel angry.
"Hey- who put this here?!" She couldn't help but laugh after it.
She looked up to Jas, who was growing impatient it seemed. She picked up her pace, nearly tripping over her new sword. She was soon scrambling over by Jas, trying to appeaze the frightning golden panther's lack of patience by her sudden presance. She had only met the Head Master once, and that was because she had used a lunch table as a weopon against some group of girls 'who were just little angels'. Meeting him again wasn't in the realm of Aidain's comfert zones. None the less, they needed his permission.
Just stand behind Tristan and behave yourself... She told herself.
