There was only one ansewr they could give to a story like that. You see, six year old twins leaning on fuzzy pet wolves, these boys could only think of one response. So, leaning forward, they gave thier only word.
"COOOOL." They whispred. Noting that the story was over, the got up quite excitedly and started blabbering in gibberish that had no meaning, really. It was depended upon who you said it- and they babbled back and forth. Even they bearly undestood what eachother were saying- not that they cared. It all ended with a paired "Tuka, Kotuf".
Before long, tehy were chasing eachother in small circles upon Wolf-back. The wild litle monsters. Then, in shock and horror- Poi came to a sudden halt, falling off Ata. He stared up at his brother who came to see if he was okay. As thier eyes locked, the horror spread quickly. They looked to Slayer.
"Does this evil still extist?" "Would it spread to every other tree around?! "And if it does- who said it would stop with just the plants?!" "Poi you don't mean...Oh God!
"We're doomed!" Embracing eachother in a sticken panic, they didn't dare scream much more than they had already- realizing the impending doom in this place. Without thinking- they picked up toward the only defenses they knew that oculd stand agaisnt them. The wolves clsoe behind, they hid behind and clung to none other- than Slayer.

OOC: Lol...hehehe I must say this 'Slayer' isn't going to know what to do....
BIC:
Stiff as a board, his muscles tensed under the embraces of the two terrified boys. He felt a little akward at the unexpected terror that the boys showed at the story. Truly they must have heard this stroy from their teachers....oh...wait they don't listen to teachers. But silently they had listened to him. Him, a person they should give you nightmares, someone that should be terrorfying was now reduced to a huggy pillow. He scowled at Jas who was growling at laughter at the scene. Priceless was the word she mewed though their connection. He stuck out his tongue, his brow furrowed. He was trapped, his arms were crossed against his chest. he was kneeling indain style. But glady the boys were small enough that his wings were able to wiggle out of thier holdings. he let them unfurl spreading about sixteen feet in length. They weren't feathered angel wings nor were they leathery demon wings. They were something inbetween. No feathers and no leathery feel. While they had been rambling on about the story he couldn't get a word in. Now he was trapped in an embrace that he didn't expect. Sighing heavily. He started pumping his wings, soon he was standing...but the boys....gods....still clung. "Your not doomed!" he said quitely, "The evil was destoryed long ago by students. But even with the evil gone the trees still don't grow. And it won't spread to the rest of the living trees because of the barrier that surrounds the forest." He didn't really feel like telling another story. He felt like he was missing something....he wasn't going to tell them that he thought the evil was still here. The demon that confirmed it. It needed a vessel...a body to inhabit.....to use.....a vessel that already knew what evil was....a vessel that conmitted evil itself.

"But if the darkness is gone," Poi started, not about to let go of Slayer. He decided to let his brother finish the thought. "Then why was there a demon here? Why would you have to fight," Zen continued the honor of finishing hte horrific sentance. "If there was no danger?" They could only shudder. Even the wolves were huddled clsoe to one another, but still hadn't moved from where they had once layed with their masters. They were to afraid of tha Panther ripping thier thin legs from their bodies.
The didn't know their knees anymore, they felt safe beneath the strong wings that now raised ubove them. They seemed so strong, and so did the owner of them. They were odd wings, but the twins didn't care. It was a symbol of strenth and it was security to them.

Kids and there questions. He would never be able to finish his patrol at this rate. Jas, who was laying close by, her eyes alight with laughter. He still scowled, at her and the questions more then anything else. He couldn't tell the boys that the evil was alive and looking. For the Headmaster made him swear that he would keep it a secret from the students. But these two were infurating. But he radily kept his anger in check. "Boys, the evil may be gone, but it's minions may still be around. Just becuase the master demon is dead doesn't mean that it's slaves don't keep trying. The demon you saw earlier was a first Hell demon. There are seven hells. The larger number the stronger the demon. The Broken Trees and the other places that were destroyed by the Evil One hold only first and second hell demons. Sometime third. But there isn't a strong demon-caller to call upon the stronger demons. So in other words there is nothing to worry about." At least he hoped his words were true. If the Evil One was alive then this demon-slayer was going to try everything and anything to try and stop it.

"Why can't our teachers tell us stuff like this?" Poi noted, less scared now. "They wouldn't be so boring if they told us soemthing interesting." "Yeah. That'd be awsome. Maybe if they told us stuff we didn't know they wouldn't be so bad either." Zen groaned. Letting go of 'Slayer', he walked back to Oko to comfert him about the fear of the panther. "I herd that the older classes get to blow up stuff 'by accident'. Maybe the teachers get better later on." "Don't look at me." Poi barked, and with the proper words, mounted Ata. "I control plants not time." Zen following the motion of his brother, he spoke and mounted. With broght eyes, he turned back to his borhter. "What if Slayer was a teacher?! That be the cooloest class!" "Are you kidding? All the teacher's strictness and old-greases would wipe off on him and he wouldn't be so cool anymore! Teacher-dom is like a disease. You walk in cool, and walk out an old geezer with a stick isntead of a sword."
Dispite the fact that they spoke as if he wasn't standing there, they kept on going on who the diesease of a teacher spread. Going into the discutisng detaiols of how this worm gets into one of the books and digs into the flesh, spreading through the blood of the new teacher and turning him crusty from teh inside. As far as details would go, these boys were relentless.

Growing use to the fact that they talked like he wasn't there, flapping his wings he curled them back to where they belonged. Yawning slightly. He listened to them rant and rave about teachers at the school. He didn't really know any of the teachers. He knew the Headmaster, who his rper should make soon....or something. But the teachers? He stayed clear of them. He really didn't like teachers...not the teachers that his father had. They were cruel. These boys should count themselves luckly they have such teachers. Jas moved closer to him, his hand resting on her proud head. Streaching his arms, he yawned wider. HIs stomach growled a bit. But he wasn't done with his patrol, since he was stuck with these two. They weren't so bad....once you got use to the fact they talk about you right in front of you. Listening to the details of the worm that made teachers old. "I never went to school." he said quietly, Jas pricked her ears in his direction.

Right in the middle of the description of infected blood, they froze. They didn't turn to look at him, and the wolves didn't know enough of what was going on. However, they picked up the sudden shock from their riders. Looking around, the dimwhitted dogs' eyes glazed over in stupidity. Zen broke the silence as he turend to Slayer.
"No wonder your not ruined with those teacher's so called 'gift of knolage'." He spoke with awe and envy."You nevr had to sit at a desk and be whapped with a ruler because they didn't like your specific tone, or your answer was wong."
"Lucky." Was all that Poi said. Thinking of their teachers, they rubbed their hands painfully. "That must be so cool not having to deal with these utter strangers acting as if they wre your parents or something. I mean, they act as if they worked so hard to bring us into the world. Man, I wonder if Mom knows what they do to us here."
"Poi, don't you remeber? THey don't talk to us and to our parents the same way- so our panrest think it's for the best for us to get hit with very slighly wrong answer."
"Some days I really wonder how adults hypnotize eachother without a twirly thinigy or a colored shoestring."

Tristan laid back on the ground, his hands behind his head, his wings outstretched. Jas, moving closer to her friend, laid her head on his stomach. Her green eyes glancing at his once and awhile. He felt pain from remembering. He told himself that he would forget, but the young boys made him recall. The boys had it lucky. They had parents that loved them, and wanted the best for them. His mother was his only protector...and she died. His father...well...he was killed by his only son. He recalled his so called 'teachers' when he did something wrong...well he wasn't hit over the hand with a ruler...it was far worse. He still carried the scars on his back, down his legs and arms. He could still feel the whip as it fell against his flesh. He couldn't tell the young boys what his father did to him. Why his mother died. He couldn't tell them that he was half demon and half angel. His father the demon and his mother the angel. Closing his eye, he recalled his mother, fair, proud and beautiful as she was taken to his father's domain. She was a captive...her raven black hair and sparkling blue eyes, white feathered wings made him long to be held in her arms again. He missed her terribly. His father...he only felt hate and rage as he remembered his father. Big, with red hair and golden eyes. Demon wings curving out of his back as he sat on his throne. In a way the half-angel wished he went to school like any normal child. But he was train and beaten in the terrible arts of fighting. His mother was his only sancuary. He turned his head and looked at the boys, his golden eye hard with a mixture of fear and anger. "I wished I was only whapped with a ruler when I was young. You are the ones that are lucky...and I'm the one envious of you."

Poi cokced his head to the side, staring down at him from his seat on Ata. He raised an eyebrow and teh wolf walked over to form a shadow over Slayer's face.
"Why would you envy us? So you had a rough past- anyone could see that by looking at you. But- if you hadn't, if you had our kind of lives, would you be you then? Have you even looked in the mirror?!" Poi cried down at him.
"Yeah, have you? You have got to be the strongest, coolest, most kick butt guy I have ever seen! These teachers say that making us do math and crap is gonna make us stronger, and that the ruler is for character."
"You will be strong ones one day." The boys mocked.
"But look at us! We have been working together on our abilities ever sicne we were three, and we are still so very puny and weak! We have done jsut about everything we could think of and we are still skin and bone- no muscle- mind or body."
"Yeah, but on the bright side, we could be fat like eveyrone else."
"That's the only positive thing you have come up with this entire time for a year and a half." Poi said dryly, eyeing his brother. He then turned back to Slayer. "And look at you! Your arm is about the size of my head! You kicked that Demon thing from here to the north pole! People look at you and fear you! Do you know how many of these students would want that kind of effect around here? These teachers have been teaching these students for generations and you're the only one I have seen this strong- especially in the last three yearbooks."
No joke.

ooc: lol...I luv these boys....I have to think of a good way to reply....
bic:
His brow furrowed and his frown deepened as the boys spoke, he tensed as Jas lifted her head. Her green eyes gleaming, a snarl arose from her throat. Her hackles and fur stood on end. Her gaze was fixed on something in the distance. She lifted her two hundred pound body of pure muscle up, her feet light, and her tail tapping the air. Her long white teeth glittering in the sun.
Jas? A demon....stronger then I have ever felt before...
Tristan jumped to his feet, careful not to knock the boys off their wolves. His wings were fully unfurled, he reached for his sword from it's sheath at his back. His one eye fixed on the same spot Jas was looking. She was still growling, her body moving closer to the ground. The half-demon moved softly after her. Then he senesed the demon. Jas was right...it was stronger then a even a third hell demon. His own father was a fifth level demon....this one felt even stronger then that. Could it be a sixth? Or even a seventh? Impossible...but there it was. A dark cloud flooded the rays of the sun. Soon it was pitch black, the wind howled and ripped though the trees. He tested the barrier, it was strong...but it wasn't geranted that it would hold. He then remembered the twins. "Run..." he halfed hissed halfed whispered to them, not taking his eye off the speck in the distance. The closer they were to the school the safer they were.

((I know, these guys are great. Totally love them.)) "Zen- quick, which way to the school?" Poi backed away from Slayer. "That way. But we won't get there in time!" Zen paniced, riding Oko toward the school campus. "Ata and Oko couldn't possibly be able to run fast enough- not to mention us on them. And we are even slower than them.""Dig. Dig now- fast as you were before. At least we can go underground for a time, rest, then keep going. We'll be safer underground then ont eh surface right infront of that thing.""But what about Ata and Oko?! They can't get down like that!""Then raise the tunnel up to them! Just HURRY! Dangit, I wish the plats here would listen to me!""Well while I work on shelter and escape, you try that. You never know.""But you herd Slayer! This place is all diffrent! The chances-""Well just standing there isn't going to help anything! Just try it, and if you feel like your going to die then stop!"So, with nothing else they could do, Zen formed a rock quickly and as soon as it was done, he started tunneling in it, large enough for hte wolves and it declined as it went along. As soon as it was deep enough, he pulled the wolves fromt eh outside and hid them in the undeground fortress. As he poped back up, he saw his brother, just under the shelter, and straining to find anything he could use. Then there was a bright face. "Zen! I found seeds! There are thousands of them all over the place! The must be from when everyone tried to bring the trees back to this barren place. They are long sicne dead, but they are normal seedlings. I'm trying it-""Poi?""Yeah, Zen?""Becareful."There was a soft silence, where timed stoped. The brothers stood side by side, their love being the only thing keeping them alive up to this point. The moment was broken as they looked to the sky, the darkness getting stronger, the horror growing deeper. They looked at Slayer- and they noticed that he was far from happy. Looking into eachother's eyes, the twins nodded, and put their hands out infront of them- just how their teacher had taught them. The ground began to shake, and a dark, dusty figure emerged from the ground before them. They didn't dare to speak. As it rose up, the noticed what they had done together. It was a large masss of dead seeds, pleguing the area, covering the ground with the multitudes of seeds that had tried to survive in this place. Dead plants and and withered leaves rose up. The ground quaked, the dust on the surface was shifting towards the two twins, and molded around the cave that they had formed. It formed a kind of door, thin but fast. They would have stayed to fight, to watch the battle between thier Slayer friend and the opposing danger, but they thought better. Those few moments with teh Slayer had a good impact on the as the stone entrance to the tunnel sunk beneath the ground, many of the seeds following the twins to protect them. From there on, they dug deeper, towards the barrier where life would be. They wanted to turn back and fight, but for now, deep under the surface with a few holes for air along the way, they sat huddled in a safty that they had formed. They depended on Slayer to save them now.

Saving? He wasn't used to protecting two kids from the demons. He glanced back, making sure they were hidden from view...if the demon saw them....gods that would be horrible. The stench grew. His nose wrinkled he heard Jas sneeze in disgust. Then it was upon him and his golden panther. It screamed rage and curses at Tristan, as it grew larger. The sun was now totally out, the wind seemed to grew louder and stronger but the half-demon stood his ground. His face distorted in rage. He raised his sword, black power flowing from his body to the sword as it had before with the smaller demon.
It's a sixth hell demon, Tristan!
Jas yelled from her position in his front. For once her voice seemed to have a hint of fear and not knowing what would happen. That made the slayer freeze for an instant. His golden panther afraid? Last time he fought a demon at this strength he lost an eye...what would he lose now? An arm? A wing? It didn't matter....the demon was trying to break the barrier. The Evil One was being relentless today. Tristan growled loudly as the demon moved closer to him. He screamed loudly, raising his sword he leapt toward the demon. He struck flesh, he felt the sword stink into the skin, then he saw black blood. The demon didn't even seem to flinch. He just laughed. And acted like Tristan was only a fly to be squatted at. Then the demon flung his arm up and out. The sword loosened and the half-demon went flying into a tree. It happend so fast he wasn't able to spread his wings and catch himself. He laid daze for a moment. His left wing felt wrong. His head pounded. Then he felt icy cold claws closing around him. Then he felt the rush of cold air, then the racid breathe of the demon. His sword was lying near the tree. The half-angel was in the demon's grasp. The sixth hell demon could easily crunch him. It laughed, it was a mixture between a hissed and a shriek. Tristan winced as memories flooded back. Finally his head cleared. The demon still hadn't killed him...what was going on?
"I have the little demon-slayer in my claws" it spoke, the voice like thunder. "I could kill you in an instant little demon...but why would I kill one of my own kind? Your father was a powerful demon....far more then you could imagine...and I have his only son in my hands! Why are you protecting them? These humans? That's all they are...even with powers. The evil calls...Can't you hear him? You should...it was strong in you father....you are his son...stronger...more intelligent....more worthy of the evil one's power." it puased as Tristan regained some of his wits. The fall he had was hard, his head still felt dizzy. His body was weak, he believe one wing was sprained or broken. Wouldn't it be easy to let it all go....listen to the demon...let his own demon nature come out?
Tristan!! Don't listen....the boys!! Look to the boys!!
Jas was right...but wasn't she always. That was weak if he choose to let his demon power loose on the world. He reached for his power that was growing inside of him. It was large and black, like a firey orb. It was a mixture of angel and demon. He grabbed it...all of it. Letting it flow threw his limbs...until he was one large black firey orb himself. The demon screamed in pain and let him go. Cluching his claws like they were burnt. Tristan felt his wing heal, he hovered above the ground. He rised his arms up, his golden eye turned black. He smelled the fear-scent on the demon. Tristan knew he was stronger....then he let it go. The demon screamed as his body burned into ashes and it's soul was sent back to hell. It felt wonderful to let it go. Let everything go. It was exhilrating. He felt free....uncontroled.
TRISTAN!!!
The voice brought him out of his glory, the black power faded, his eye turned golden again. He felt drained and weak. He looked at the landscape, ashes were falling to the hot ground. The sun started to come out from the clouds. But even the protected area of the forest seemed to be burnt. He had broken part of the barrier. Some trees were burning. But the wind blew it out. He sighed as he felt the barrier renew itself. Tristan knew if he hadn't be inturrupted by that voice he would have destoryed the barrier in it's self. Then he felt weaker then a newborn, his muscles ached, and his head was dizzy. He touched his stomach....he was sticky....blood? Had the demon cut him before it turned to ashes? His vision blurred....he felt his body hit the ground. And a wet nose pressing up against his face...then nothing....

"He's lying down...leaving his weight for the earth to hold." Zen murmered, worried. He could feel Slayer lying on the ground, the ground he controled. He felt a bit of panic rise up in him. Pushing it down, he felt around for Jas' paws, and because she was a panther (and cats are normally ligther on their feet) she wa harder to find- but soon he found the four golden paws on the grown to the right of Slayer. He did the only thing he could come up with- a wall. So, as quickly as he could he felt the wearyness of to much work in a day creep over him as he formed a wall, like an unfinished stone dome, over his two new friends and protectors. "I hope they are okay... You know what, I'm going to ask them." Poi said, looking at the seeds in his hands. Once again feeling for the ones all over the ground outside, he lifted them up and over the wall so that the seeds floated into the cavity of stone where the two were. It was hard, but he was able to feel his way around teh seeds, and with the small peices, he was able to spell out to the Panther- who he hoped could read if Slayer wasn't able to. Are you okay?

Jas was worried, her friend had reached for too much power too quickly. And now he laid near her feet paying the price. Her nose was pressed against his neck. She was afraid, she coudln't hear him. His side of their link was silent. She whined her rough tongue licking his face. The ground trembled under her paws, a wall rose up. She knew it was one of the twins. Then soft clicking noise pricked her ears. Seeds...hundreds of seeds formed words near her paws. She looked over at the human words. The seeds forming and twisting. 'Are you okay?' She didn't know how to answer. Maybe she could tell their wolves somehow. They were animals and far more easy to speak too then humans. Their names were...Ata...and Oko? Yea that sounded about right. Tristan was lying hurt, she didn't know how badly she wasn't a human with their limbs....he could be dying for all she knew. She heard him moan slightly. Maybe he was waking up....that was a big hope.
Ata? Oko? Please say that you hear me....Don't be frigthened....please try and tell your masters that they can come out.....it's safe...the demon is gone. Back into the underworld.
She hoped they would hear. They were animals...intelligent where humans were stupid. If the twins couldn't hear her....they would. She turn her attention back to Tristan. She smelled blood. Her paws were sticky with it. Tristan was bleeding and bad. He was whezzing as he breathed. His face pale. The gash looked bad. Riped his clothes and teared his skin quite deep. Troubled she didn't know what to do....she was after all just a panther...

It's Ata, and yes, Oto and I hear you. You sound worried. What happened? They were a little afraid to speak to teh panther, but They did for the reassurence of the Golden Panther. Ata nudged his master, and Oko his, and with a comferting lick, the boys understood.
"Look, aprpetnly they got some response." Poi noted, leading the way back to the mouth of the tunnel. "Maybe the panther spoke to them. She speaks to Slayer, doesn't she?" Zen followed, a bit wearier than his brother. They scrambled up to the surface. The hardened dust sealed msot of the door. Ata stepped up and bashed hsi head against it, and it shattered before him. The panther speaking to him made him somehwat stronger- and he felt that he was more than a pair's pet...maybe he was? Oko seemed to onder teh same question- Aka could see it on his face.
The twins spoke the words, and they mounted. They rode quickly to where the wall was. Oko with Zen ran ahead of the other pair so that Zen could seperate the wall for them. As he did so, they ran in, and he sealed it behind him.
Zen is very tired. He can't do much more than he already has. he'll faint. Oko put him down on teh ground against the wall to catch his breath.
Poi had already dismounted off of Ata. The two of them were at The Slayer's left side, looking over him. Poi looked up to teh panther, with worried face. Wondering, he decided to try it... Will he be okay?
