{ there were no other students lounging about in the dorms, as there had been near the great oak doors at the schools main entrance. there was, however, a fair half-hour of leisure time before classes were to commence for the morning. the lone boy figured privately the rest of the inabitants of these dorms were tending to a cafeteria-quality serving of scrambled eggs; a joy he would be willing to sacrifice for just a few more minutes of sleep. }
{ after a short survey of his new quarters, the shadowy figure stepped into the brilliant dawn light cascading through a dirty window above his apparent new bed - small, with what appeared to be a lump in the center of the matress. and even though he had learned to never judge a book by its cover, he couldn't help but dread the dozens of sleepless nights he assumed to undergo courtesy of the pitiful cot. he even gave a short laugh brimming with sarcasm as it creaked in protest to the demons full weight resting atop the uneven matress. }
{ grey iris' staring blankly at the plaster cieling only partially concious, the boy let hopes and worries pass through his mind at their own pace; naught more than thinking about his future at this academy he was sent to. there were others of his own blood here - devils like himself - though they were rumored to be lurking in the forest that outskirted the boundaries of campus. he wondered about them, whether they assumed the human form he did, or if they posessed greater powers than he. also, there was a half-blood here father Perse had told him to keep a weather eye for, though of his tag he was unsure. whomever he was, demon blood flowed through his veins, as well as that of the heaven-child...was this true? was this even possible? the shadow-worker concluded he would cross paths with this slayer sooner or later, though he would not go searching for him. time would work her magic soon enough... }
{ he drifted in and out of this state of mind - unaware of the passing moments. the solid oak door bearing an ancient, rusted bolt-lock had been left open; perhaps the illusive lady luck would happend upon him today and the demon would forge a new alliance. friends were something he had never truly experienced - maybe here he would find some... }
